Hello
everyone!!
Last
Wednesday "The taleteller" company came to our school to do a performance of a great
show for 5th and 6th boys and girls. The theatre play was called
"Dorothy's dance camp".
The
story was about a girl who joined a summer dance camp. Her parents bought her a
pair of new shoes, they were cool, but she forgot them on a table. The cleaning
woman loved new shoes, and she decided to steal them, and she challenged Dorothy to
get her shoes back. Dorothy had to do 3 very difficult things:
- Make Scott solve a problem.
- Make Tina dance.
- Make Leo sing in public.
The 4 main characters were :
- DOROTHY.
- She is very, very happy. She's got a purple t-shirt and a red shining cap.She has got new shoes. She speaks English. She likes dancing and singing. She can sing in public.
- SCOTT:
- He is not very intelligent. He has got a foulard on his head. He likes dancing hip-hop. He is not good at solving problems. He is good at making friends.
- TINA:
- She has got black hair. She is boring. She has got a rat, its name is Dracula. She can sing but she can't dance. She doesn't like anything. She thinks everything is boring.
- LEO:
- He wears a green cap and big rounded glasses. He likes solving problems. He's very intelligent, but very shy. He is not good at making friends. He doesn't like dancing and singing in public. He is not confident. His best friends are the teachers.
It
was very difficult but at the end she completed the challenge because:
"YOU
CAN DO IT IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT"
So
the cleaning woman gave Dorothy’s shoes back to her, but Dorothy wanted to be
go with her new friends and she forgot her shoes again on the table.
The cleaning woman found them and was very happy too.
We
had a very good time because we participated, we sang and we danced. We enjoyed a
lot because students acted out with the actress. When the show finished we
asked her questions (in English of course). She is from Ireland but she
lives in Barcelona. She recommended us to read English books, to watch original version films at
home, and to speak English at school.
And
that was when we ruled the world, ups sorry...That was in the gym of the
school.
